I agree. But I don't know whether or not anything like "God" exists apart from human (or even other) consciousness. Even Anselm's rather vaguely empty definition of God, "a being which no greater being can exist" still limits God by terms like "being" & "greatness".

I suppose the crux of it is, I take what is written by OP for what it is at face, where as you both view the words of OP as implicating something further. Perhaps the only thing that would actually settle it, would be further clarification from the OP. WIth that said, i feel like a dead horse is being beaten further to death.

The one thing you are forgetting is that it's actually the Law of Conservation of Mass and Energy. Every nuclear reactor or atomic/nuclear bomb (they're different, you know. . .) literally converts matter into energy. Nagasaki, for instance, was the conversion of about a gram of mass into energy. Mostly, it was heat but it was also kinetic energy, gamma and x-rays (both are photons. . .massless) and even the energy of the sound waves.
